When Kate does go back to her old job, she finds that things have changed. She has to hand over her son to they nanny and go to work. At work, she has to compete with new staff just to get back her old accounts. She struggles and fights to get into a meeting – which she’s eventually late to because she had to pump breast-milk. She spills it all over the file and on her blouse but somehow makes it to the meeting and wins over her client. For a little time, she feels like she’s doing okay, until she gets to know she’s missed her son’s first words. Workin’ Moms on Netflix is about just that.

Workin’ Moms is of life after and during pregnancy. Let me introduce characters of Workin’ Moms. Kate Foster (Catherine Reitman) is about to go back to work. She’s nervous. She’s part of mom’s group where they discuss all things pregnancy related. Frankie Coyne (Juno Rinaldi), one of the other moms of the group says she’s also nervous because she’s feeling the postpartum blues.Does anyone have any idea just how hard it is to be a mom? Personally, I have absolutely no clue. I’m single and very happily so. I cannot imagine what pregnancy does to your body. To think about growing another nasty living human inside yourself and then push the thing out of yourself. But then, that’s not all, you aren’t just done after that. No, you have to raise it. It’s almost impossible to go back to being yourself. How people manage to love the being that turned your body and life upside down is beyond me. But hey, maybe I just haven’t felt the mythical pregnancy glow yet.

Anne Carlson (Dani Kind), another woman from the group finds out she’s pregnant again. Just a mere eight months after her second child. She’s anxious because she doesn’t think her husband wants anymore kids but also, she doesn’t think she can handle more than two.

The Workin’ Moms centers around how new moms are overwhelmed and torn between their babies and their ambitions. It’s about the struggle between balancing home and work life. The feel of wanting to go back to work and invest in their careers again, but also feeling bad for missing your child’s first steps or first words. Workin’ Moms shows us just how hard it is to return to any semblance of normalcy after building another human inside you.
